Labor Day Weekend in Sonoma
This past Labor Day we stayed at one of our favorite places in the world- Sonoma. We always stay at the Fairmont Mission Inn and Spa. It is probably the most relaxing hotel ever. Sonoma as a whole is just so relaxing and chill, we do not even venture to Napa. During our stay we went to a few wineries, tasting rooms, and enjoyed the delicious farm to table food,.
The first day we started off at the spa inside of the Fairmont which is probably on of the best spas I have been to. All of the water on the property is derived from the Boyes Hot Springs so it is all natural mineral water. I felt rejuvenated already. We began the wine tastings at Chateau St. Jean which is probably one of the prettiest Vineyards in Sonoma. We did the special Reserve Tasting which is outside on the patio overlooking the vineyards. After that we enjoyed the tasting rooms nearby, Spann and VJB. Later in the day we walked all the way to downtown Sonoma during sunset and ate at Della Santina’s.
The next day we ate lunch at Tasca Tasca which is a delicious tapas place in downtown Sonoma. After that we explored some of the tasting rooms downtown then went to Jacuzzi Vineyards. Jacuzzi was beautiful and the actual Jacuzzi tub was named after the family who invented the Jacuzzi motor, but the wines were actually very good. Later that day we went to Michelin rated Glen Ellen Star which was probably my favorite restaurant of this trip.
Our final day in Sonoma we had a nice lunch at Oso downtown and then did the Barrel Tour at Buena Vista Winery. Buena Vista is the oldest winery in Sonoma and they definitely stick to that theme. The tour guide showed us around the beautiful wine cave that looked like it was out of Game of Thrones. Our last dinner was spent at one of our favorite restaurants located inside of the Fairmont, Sante. Can we just move here please?
