Super Bloom in La Jolla with The FujiFilmx100VI
For over a month I have been experimenting with my new FujiFilmx100VI, the newest of the Fujifilm 100 series. I have been wanting to shoot differently for a while now. I had gotten tired of the DSLR look. I finally feel excited and passionate about photography again because of this camera.
It has definitely been a learning curve. I am still figuring out just how I want to use the camera. The 35mm focal point is also sometimes challenging because I am used to using a 24-70 zoom lens. I have come up with some wonderful film recipes which I love, so much so that it is hard to choose which ones to use. I am shooting in both JPEG and RAW, although I have mostly been using the JPEG images. They look great right out of the camera. However I am still uploading all of the photos into Lightroom to make some minor tweaks.
I decided to visit La Jolla to practice with my camera, and it was a magical day! Because of the rain, California has had a beautiful Super Bloom of flowers. Everything is so lush. I also went on a super sunny day, not a cloud in the sky which can be rare for La Jolla. There is usually cloud cover or fog. Overall I am very happy with how my shots came out. I think I am done with my DSLR, at least for now!
